After my first brief trip to Lisbon in 2010 we decided to come back to Portugal for a longer stay.

We spent first a few days in Lisbon and then a week in a holiday flat near the coast north of Lisbon, and explored various sights including Sintra, Mafra, Óbidos, Fátima, Tomar, Nazaré, the abbeys of Batalha and Alcobaça, and Coimbra. From there we went on to Évora for another few days, with excursions to Marvão and other scenic places in the area.

This was also my first holiday with the new Olympus E-M5 camera and associated gear, which may explain why I took many more photographs than usual. But it was great fun! Portugal is a wonderful place with nice people and lots of history and natural beauty, and we always like to come back.
